It was as Foretold!!!

There are 2 testaments in the Bible - new testament and old testament. The Old testament denotes the time period before Christ was born. The new testament denotes the time of Christ and after. Hundreds and even thousands of years before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the Old Testament Prophets (Prophets were like the Father or like the Pastor in today’s churches. God foretold the future to them in different ways) predicted His birth. Their predictions were not just general ones that "a Messiah, a Savior, will come" etc., but specific prophecies about places, times and events.

All of them have been fulfilled completely in only One person – Jesus of Nazareth! For the next few days we will check out some of them. All the Jews were waiting for this Savior or Messiah to be born. But when Jesus was born, most of them did not accept Him as the Savior. Probably they thought that the Ruler of Israel may come in golden robes with great authority and power. But our Lord chose the simplest human form. For this reason, the people were annoyed when He called Himself the Son of God and Ruler of Israel even when He performed many miracles before them.

PROPHECY: Nearly 750 years before Christ's birth, the Old Testament Prophet Isaiah prophesied: "The Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a Virgin shall Conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel."--Isaiah 7:14.

FULFILLMENT: In exact fulfillment of this prophecy, Mary was a young virgin engaged to be married to Joseph, a carpenter of Nazareth, when the Angel Gabriel appeared to her saying that she would bear a child. "Then Mary said to the Angel, `How shall this be, seeing I have not been with a man?' And the Angel answered, `The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you! Therefore that holy One which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God."--Luke 1:26-35. (Immanuel means "God with us", and for those of us who have received Jesus into our hearts, that's Who He IS: God is with us!)

PROPHECY: Micah, prophesying in the eighth century B.C., predicted the exact village where the Messiah would be born: "You, Bethlehem, though you are small among the clans of Judah, yet out of you shall He come forth unto Me that is to be Ruler over Israel; Whose existence has been of old, from everlasting."--Micah 5:2. (Prophecy given 710 B.C.)

FULFILLMENT: The Gospel says "Jesus was born in BETHLEHEM of JUDEA."--Matthew 2:1. Although the Jews knew that Messiah was to be born there (Matthew 2:4-6), many of them did not accept Jesus as their ruler. However, the prophecy says that He "is to be Ruler". This is spiritually true even now for those who voluntarily accept Him as their Messiah. So birth of Jesus was no accident. He was planned to be born even before the world was created to save Human Kind. Shouldn't we praise and thank our wonderful God Almighty for His immense mercy to come into the world to save us from sin, sickness, trouble and all other evil.

Isaiah 7:14

(CEV)  But the LORD will still give you proof. A virgin is pregnant; she will have a son and will name him Immanuel.

(Hindi) इस कारण प्रभु आप ही तुम को एक चिन्ह देगा। सुनो, एक कुमारी गर्भवती होगी और पुत्र जनेगी, और उसका नाम इम्मानूएल रखेगी।

 Luke 1:34,35

(CEV)  Mary asked the angel, "How can this happen? I am not married!" The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come down to you, and God's power will come over you. So your child will be called the holy Son of God.

 Micah 5:2

(CEV)  Bethlehem Ephrath, you are one of the smallest towns in the nation of Judah. But the LORD will choose one of your people to rule the nation-- someone whose family goes back to ancient times.

(Hindi) हे बेतलेहेम एप्राता, यदि तू ऐसा छोटा है कि यहूदा के हजारोंमें गिना नहीं जाता, तौभी तुझ में से मेरे लिथे एक पुरूष निकलेगा, जो इस्राएलियोंमें प्रभुता करनेवाला होगा? और उसका निकलना प्राचीनकाल से, वरन अनादि काल से होता आया है।
