Save me Lord!

Jesus sent his disciples on a boat to the other side of a lake and Jesus stayed back for some time to deal with the crowds waiting for Him. Then He went up on a mountain where He could be alone and pray. By this time the boat was a long way from the shore. It was going against the wind and was being tossed around by the waves. A little while before morning, Jesus came walking on the water toward his disciples. When they saw him, they thought He was a ghost. They were terrified and started screaming. At once, Jesus said to them, "Don't worry! I am Jesus. Don't be afraid." Peter replied, "Lord, if it is really you, tell me to come to you on the water." "Come on!" Jesus said. Peter then got out of the boat and started walking on the water toward him. But when Peter saw how strong the wind was, he was afraid and started sinking. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted. Right away, Jesus reached out His hand. He helped Peter up and said, "You surely don't have much faith. Why do you doubt?" When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind died down. The men in the boat worshiped Jesus and said, "You really are the Son of God!"

Lessons to be Learnt:

1)      Peter got out of the boat just looking at Jesus Christ with faith, but when he saw the wind around him his faith began to diminish. The same way we start praying for a problem with much faith but when we look at the situations around us we start to doubt if the Lord is with us or not.

2)     But just as the Lord pulled Peter out of the water, Jesus Christ is ready to pull us out of all our problems too.  But we need to look unto Jesus Christ and not worry about our problems.

Matthew 14:27

(CEV)  At once, Jesus said to them, "Don't worry! I am Jesus. Don't be afraid."

(Kan) ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಧೈರ್ಯವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ; ನಾನೇ, ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿಅಂದನು.

(Mal) ഉടനെ യേശു അവരോടു“ധൈര്യപ്പെടുവിന്‍ ; ഞാന്‍ ആകുന്നു; പേടിക്കേണ്ടാ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
