Plagues 2 – Frogs!

Plagues 2 – Frogs!

God said to Moses: Go to the palace and tell the king of Egypt that I order him to let my people go, so they can worship me. If he refuses, I will cover his entire country with frogs. Warn the king that the Nile will be full of frogs, and from there they will spread into the royal palace, including the king's bedroom and even his bed. Frogs will enter the homes of his officials and will find their way into ovens and into the bowls of bread dough. Frogs will be crawling on everyone--the king, his officials, and every citizen of Egypt. Moses, now command Aaron to hold his stick over the water. Then frogs will come from all rivers, canals, and ponds in Egypt, and they will cover the land. Aaron obeyed, and suddenly frogs were everywhere in Egypt. But the magicians used their secret powers to do the same thing. But they dint know how to chase the frogs away. The king sent for Moses and Aaron and told them, "If you ask the LORD to take these frogs away from me and my people, I will let your people go and offer sacrifices to him." "All right," Moses answered. "You choose the time when I am to pray for the frogs to stop bothering you, your officials, and your people, and for them to leave your houses and be found only in the river." "Do it tomorrow!" the king replied. "As you wish," Moses agreed. "Then everyone will discover that there is no god like the LORD, and frogs will no longer be found anywhere, except in the Nile." After Moses and Aaron left the palace, Moses begged the LORD to do something about the frogs he had sent as punishment for the king. The LORD listened to Moses, and frogs died everywhere--in houses, yards, and fields. The dead frogs were placed in piles, and the whole country began to stink. But when the king saw that things were now better, he again did just as the LORD had said and stubbornly refused to listen to Moses and Aaron.
Lesson to be Learnt:
We sure wont wish to be in a place like this with frogsJ Now coming to the Lesson…
1.      Some of us are just like the Pharaoh, When we have problems we plead the Lord to get us out of it, but When the Lord  has saved us, we fail to repent and do the same mistakes again.
2.      But our God is a Merciful God. Because of His mercies we are not consumed. God knows our weaknesses, so don’t lose heart when you fail to please God sometimes. Take even your failures in prayer. God will surely strengthen you.
3.      When Moses prayed, God listened to him and the frogs died. The same way when we pray the Lord does listen to us . He will listen to our prayers. So have faith and pray. You will surely receive what you pray for.

Mark 11:24
(Hindi) इसलिथे मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि जो कुछ तुम प्रार्यना करके मांगोंतो प्रतीति कर लो कि तुम्हें मिल गया, और तुम्हारे लिथे हो जाएगा।
(ISV)  That is why I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.

Plagues - 1. Water Turns Blood!

Plagues - 1. Water Turns Blood!

From today we are going to see “The Ten plagues(curse)” that the Lord brought upon Egypt. The LORD said to Moses: The Egyptian king stubbornly refuses to change his mind and let the people go. Tomorrow morning take the stick that turned into a snake, then wait beside the Nile River for the king. Tell him, "The LORD God of the Hebrews sent me to order you to release his people, so they can worship him in the desert. But until now, you have paid no attention. "The LORD is going to do something to show you that He really is the LORD. I will strike the Nile with this stick, and the water will turn into blood. The fish will die, the river will stink, and none of you Egyptians will be able to drink the water." Moses, then command Aaron to hold his stick over the water. And when he does, every drop of water in Egypt will turn into blood, including rivers, canals, ponds, and even the water in buckets and jars. Moses and Aaron obeyed the LORD. Aaron held out his stick, then struck the Nile, as the king and his officials watched. The river turned into blood, the fish died, and the water smelled so bad that none of the Egyptians could drink it. Blood was everywhere in Egypt. But the Egyptian magicians used their secret powers to do the same thing. The king did just as the LORD had said--he stubbornly refused to listen. Then he went back to his palace and never gave it a second thought. The Egyptians had to dig holes along the banks of the Nile for drinking water, because water from the river was unfit to drink. Seven days after the LORD had struck the Nile,
Lesson to be Learnt:
1.      Imagine ourselves in Moses and Aaron’s situation, if we are asked to do the same, What would we have done?.
2.      They showed implicit obedience. The same Moses who argued with the Lord, when the Lord asked him to deliver His people now showed a great level of faith to do what the Lord said.
3.      May be we too don’t have such faith like Moses. But let’s take it up now and pray to the Lord  pleading Him to strengthen us to give us faith to follow Him wherever He goes and do whatever He says without questioning. And His strength is always made perfect in our weakness.
4.      It can’t be brought out in a second. Start praying and believing in God for each and every simple thing. When take such simple steps, God like a proud Father will lift us up and show us how to walk in faith though we falter many times.
5.      God went to the level of inflicting Egyptians with Plagues when they troubled God’s people. The same God is with us. Anything take it to the Lord. He will fight for you.

2Corinthians 12:9
(CEV)  But he replied, "My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak." So if Christ keeps giving me his power, I will gladly brag about how weak I am.

Show Child-Like Dependence on the Maker!

Show Child-Like Dependence on the Maker!
The LORD had commanded Aaron and Moses to lead every family and tribe of Israel out of Egypt,  and so they ordered the king of Egypt to set the people of Israel free. When the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, he said, "I am the LORD. Tell the king of Egypt everything I say to you." But Moses answered, "You know I am a very poor speaker, and the king will never listen to me." The LORD said: I am going to let your brother Aaron speak for you. He will tell your message to the king, just as a prophet speaks my message to the people. Tell Aaron everything I say to you, and he will order the king to let my people leave his country. But I will make the king so stubborn that he won't listen to you. He won't listen even when I do many terrible things to him and his nation. Then I will bring a final punishment on Egypt, and the king will let Israel's families and tribes go. When this happens, the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD. Moses and Aaron obeyed the LORD and spoke to the king. At the time, Moses was 80 years old, and Aaron was 83. The LORD told them what they should do in front of the king. Moses and Aaron went to the king and his officials and did exactly as the LORD had commanded--Aaron threw the stick down, and it turned into a snake. Then the king called in the wise men and the magicians, who used their secret powers to do the same thing they threw down sticks that turned into snakes. But Aaron's snake swallowed theirs. The king behaved just as the LORD had said and stubbornly refused to listen. The LORD said to Moses: The Egyptian king stubbornly refuses to change his mind and let the people go.
Lesson to be Learnt:
Whatever we do, small or great the Lord wishes us to depend on Him and pray for it.  May it be “Writing an exam/Attending an interview/getting a good sleep/everything”. He likes it when we show child-like dependence on Him. Here too, the Lord did everything for Israel. He could have asked the people of Israel to wage a war against Egypt and them helped them in the war, but He dint do that. He fought the battle all by Himself. He wanted both the Egyptians and the Israelites to know that He was God. So may it be a very small task or a big one, ask the Lord for His guidance and give Him glory in everything you do. You will surely be blessed.
1Corinthians 10:31
(CEV)  When you eat or drink or do anything else, always do it to honor God.

Joy Comes in The Morning!

Joy Comes in The Morning!
And the Lord said to Aaron, Go into the waste land and you will see Moses. So he went and came across Moses at the mountain of God, and gave him a kiss. And Moses gave Aaron an account of all the words of the Lord. Then Moses and Aaron went and got together all the chiefs of the children of Israel: And Aaron said to them all the words the Lord had said to Moses, and did the signs before all the people. And the people had faith in them; and hearing that the Lord had taken up the cause of the children of Israel and had seen their troubles, with bent heads they gave him worship. Moses and Aaron went to the king of Egypt and told him, "The LORD God says, 'Let my people go into the desert, so they can honor me with a celebration there.' ". "Who is this LORD and why should I obey him?" the king replied. "I refuse to let you and your people go!" They answered, "The LORD God of the Hebrews, has appeared to us. Please let us walk 3 days into the desert where we can offer sacrifices to him. If you don't, he may strike us down with terrible troubles or with war."The king said, "Moses and Aaron, why are you keeping these people from working? Now everyone get back to work!" The king ordered the slave masters not to provide the slaves with straw yet make the same number of bricks that they usually do. The slave masters beat them so badly that finally, the men in charge of the slaves went to the king and said, "Why are you treating us like this? No one brings us any straw, but we are still ordered to make the same number of bricks. We are beaten with whips." The king replied, "You are lazy! That's why you keep asking me to let you go and sacrifice to your LORD. Get back to work! You won't be given straw, but you must still make the same number of bricks." The men knew they were in deep trouble when they were ordered to make the same number of bricks each day. After they left the king, they went to see Moses and Aaron, who had been waiting for them. Then the men said, "We hope the LORD will punish both of you for making the king and his officials hate us. Now they even have an excuse to kill us." Moses left them and prayed, "Our LORD, why have you brought so much trouble on your people? Is that why you sent me here? Ever since you told me to speak to the king, he has caused nothing but trouble for these people. And you haven't done a thing to help."
Lesson to be Learnt:
When the Lord is solving the problems in our life, it might at times appear to us like we have jumped out of frying pan into the fire. But stand still, wait and see the wonders of the Lord. For the small pain that you are going through is going to end. Weeping might last the night but joy comes in the morning. Instead of grumbling and complaining against the Lord like the children of Israel, we should praise the Lord in whatever situation we are. They dint trust or believe that the Lord who had sent them a deliverer would save them as well. So brothers/sisters if we are in such a situation today, shall we pray to the Lord to give us strength to praise Him in every situation.

Psalm 30:5
(MKJV)  For His anger is only a moment; in His favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Don’t Miss the Opportunities That God Gives You!

Don’t Miss the Opportunities That God Gives You!
And Moses said, it is certain that they will not have faith in me, they will say not believe that I have seen the Lord. And the Lord said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Put it down on the earth. And he put it down on the earth and it became a snake; and Moses went running from it. And the Lord said to Moses, Put out your hand and take it by the tail: and did so and it became a rod in his hand: So that they may be certain that the Lord, the God of their fathers has been seen by you. Then the Lord said to him again, Put your hand inside your robe. And he put his hand inside his robe: and when he took it out it was like the hand of a leper, as white as snow. And he said, Put your hand inside your robe again. And did so, and when he took it out he saw that it had become like his other flesh. And if they do not have faith in you the first time, they will have faith in the 2nd sign. And if they have no faith even in these 2 signs, then you are to take the water of the Nile and put it on the dry land: and the water you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land. And Moses said to the Lord, O Lord, I can’t talk properly, talking is hard for me, and I am slow of tongue(stuttering). And the Lord said to him, Who has made man's mouth? who takes away a man's voice or hearing, or makes him seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? So go now, and I will be with you, teaching you what to say. And he said, O Lord, please send anyone else whom it seems good to you who will talk with me. And the Lord was angry with Moses, and said, Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? To my knowledge he is good at talking. And now he is coming out to you: Let him talk for you and I will be with you and him, teaching you what you have to do. And he will do the talking for you to the people: you will be to him as God. And take in your hand this rod with which you will do the signs.

Lesson to be Learnt:

1.      Our Lord is a God of Wonders. Nothing is impossible with Him. May it be to bring rain or to make man out of clay or give life to bones or to heal your disease or to give you wisdom or anything. “Nothing” is impossible with Him. When you believe and put your faith in that you will also see the wonders of the Lord!

2.      When God asks you to do something..“Do it!!”  Don’t give Him lame excuses. If the Lord has asked you to do something them it is sure that He will be with you and lead you.

3.      May be you are given a job that you think you can’t do..But if the Lord has prompted you to accept it then He will give you strength to do it.

4.      When after Moses refused to do what God said God became angry with him and gave his purpose to someone else. So beware don’t lose the opportunities that God gives you!
Deuteronomy 30:20
(CEV)  Be completely faithful to the LORD your God, love him, and do whatever he tells you. The LORD is the only one who can give life, and he will let you live a long time in the land that he promised to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The Lord will fight your Battles!

The Lord will fight your Battles!
The Lord said “Now go to the king! I am sending you to lead my people out of his country. But Moses said, "Who am I to go to the king and lead your people out of Egypt?" God replied, "I will be with you. And you will know that I am the one who sent you, when you worship me on this mountain after you have led my people out of Egypt." Moses answered, "I will tell the people of Israel that the God their ancestors worshiped has sent me to them. But what should I say, if they ask me Your Name?" God said to Moses: I am the eternal God. So tell them that the LORD, whose name is "I Am," has sent you. This is my name forever, and it is the name that people must use from now on. Call together the leaders of Israel and tell them that the God who was worshiped by their fathers has appeared to you. Tell them I have seen their misery, and I promise to lead them out of their troubles. I will give them a land rich with milk and honey. The leaders of Israel will listen to you. Then you must take them to the king of Egypt and say, "The LORD God of the Hebrews has appeared to us. Let us walk 3 days into the desert, where we can offer a sacrifice to him." But I know that the king of Egypt won't let you go unless something forces him to. So I will use my mighty power to perform all kinds of miracles and strike down the Egyptians. Then the king will send you away. After I punish the Egyptians, they will be so afraid of you that they will give you anything you want. You are my people, and I will let you take many things with you when you leave the land of Egypt. Every Israelite woman will go to her Egyptian neighbors or to any Egyptian woman living in her house. She will ask them for gold and silver jewelry and for their finest clothes. The Egyptians will give them to you, and you will put these fine things on your sons and daughters. You will carry all this away when you leave Egypt.
Lesson to be Learnt:
1.      When someone causes us trouble without a reason the Lord will fight the battle against them for us.
2.      We have to just stand firm and see the  deliverance of the Lord.
3.      God knew everything our past, our present and our future too.
4.      If we just believe and let the Lord take control of our life, we can stay in peace for the One who drives our lives will take us safely to the destination. Praise God!

2Chronicles 20:17
