Persecuted for doing Good!!

Day 9
Beatitudes

Many nations in Asia and Africa forbid the preaching about Christ and His love to fellow people. Those who try to spread the word of Christ here are being punished. It is considered to be more than just civil disobedience resulting in punishment -- the price is often the loss of life. In our present societies, most of us will not be hunted down for preaching or accepting Christ. However, we should expect verbal abuse which would  be hard for us to bear. But this has not shocked any of us though it is an injustice done to us that we don’t have freedom to share our faith. We have expected these even before we shared about Jesus. We are ready to lay our own life for the One who laid His own life for us...". Many people think that Christians try to convert the other people to their religion. But strictly speaking it is not the conversion of religion what we are aiming at. But the sharing of goodness, the blessings that we have got from Christ, the love, the mercy, the care, forgiveness from sin and redemption from sin. It is so much that it overflows in us and we cannot hold it within us but speak out about it to almost everyone we see.

(CEV)  God blesses those people who are treated badly for doing right. They belong to the kingdom of heaven.
