Jesus is everything for us!

Jesus is everything for us!

There was man named Elkanah in Israel. He had two wives, Hannah and Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah did not. Once a year Elkanah traveled from his hometown to Shiloh to worship the LORD. Eli was the LORD's priest there. Whenever Elkanah offered a sacrifice, he gave some of it to Peninnah and some to her children. But he gave Hannah even more, because he loved Hannah very much, even though the LORD had kept her from having children of her own. Peninnah provoked Hannah for not having any children and she began crying and refused to eat. So Elkanah consoled Hannah but she got up and went to pray. Eli(priest) was sitting in his chair near the door to the place of worship. Hannah was brokenhearted and was crying as she prayed, "LORD All-Powerful, I am your servant, but I am so miserable! Please let me have a son. I will give him to you for as long as he lives." Hannah prayed silently to the LORD but her lips were moving, and Eli thought she was drunk. So he scolded her. Hannah answered. "Sir, I'm not drunk, but I feel miserable and terribly upset. I've been praying all this time, telling the LORD about my problems." Eli replied, "You may go home now and stop worrying. I'm sure the God of Israel will answer your prayer." Hannah thanked him and she left, and after that she felt much better. The next morning they went back home to
Ramah. Later the LORD blessed Elkanah and Hannah with a son. She named him Samuel( meaning she had asked the LORD for him). The next time Elkanah and his family went to offer their yearly sacrifice, he took along a gift that he had promised to give to the LORD. But Hannah stayed home, because she had told Elkanah, "Samuel and I won't go until he's old enough for me to stop nursing him. Then I'll give him to the LORD, and he can stay there at Shiloh for the rest of his life." When it was the time of year to go to Shiloh again, Hannah and Elkanah took Samuel to the LORD's house. There they offered sacrifice, then brought the little boy to Eli. "Sir," Hannah said, " The LORD gave me just what I asked for. Now I am giving him to the LORD, and he will be the LORD's servant for as long as he lives."
Lesson to be Learnt:When I was a little kid my mother used to tell me, “Jesus is everything for us, He will never leave us alone. Nobody but Jesus will help you in this world”. And it had got deeply rooted inside my heart. So when I faced troubles, problems and even when I had unanswered prayers, I still went to the presence of the Lord for mercy. Yes, if He doesn't save then no one else could save us. Hannah had no children. Children are a gift from God. Hannah knew it. Instead of grumbling against God for not giving her children, she prayed to Him. She even vowed to give Him the child she will bear. Today I tell you the same, “Dear Brother/Sister, Jesus is everything for you, though the whole world may dump you, Jesus will not. He doesn't see your talents, your color or your caste. He loves you as you are. No human can help you out of trouble but only Jesus can” So stop grumbling against Him and start pouring out your heart at His feet. You know He is like a mother and father to us. He can console you better than anybody in this world. That’s why Hannah had peace after she prayed.
