I have a Plan For You!

I have a Plan For You!

The great work began at once, and nearly everybody participated. Even the women wished to help in the building a part of the wall. Every gate of the broken-down wall was soon rising up in the same place where Nebuchadnezzar had burned the former gates many years before. And some promised to repair the wall in front of their homes, while others promised to repair longer stretches. When Sanballat and Tobiah, two enemies who lived near Jerusalem, heard that was taking place, they were very angry. They did not wish to see this great city rebuilt, for they feared that the Jews would no longer allow them to come into Jerusalem and oppress the people who lived there. So they planned many ways to hinder the building of the wall. But Nehemiah heard about their plan, and he armed the men with swords and spears on every part of the wall. Some worked with one hand while they held a spear in the other hand. And all the while, both day and night, guards stood about to watch for the approach of the enemy. At last the walls were built, but the doors of the gates were not yet set up.
The enemies had been afraid to come and fight, for they had heard that Nehemiah and his workers were armed with swords and spears. For twelve years Nehemiah stayed in Jerusalem and acted as governor of the city. Then he knew that Artaxerxes, the King, would be expecting him back in Shushan; for he had promised to return at that time. So he appointed his brother Hanani and another man to rule the city while he should be absent, and then he hurried back to see the King. Artaxerxes permitted him to return the second time to Jerusalem, and Nehemiah's work on this second visit was more the work of restoring the customs that God had commanded by Moses for the people to obey. Because of the faithful efforts of men like Nehemiah and Ezra, the priest, the Jews began to pay more heed to the teachings of God's law.
Lesson to be Learnt:
Each one of us have a part to play in God’s ministry. In this case, everybody took atleast a small part of the work in building a huge wall. The same way, today God needs many people to carry out His work. For some, it can be praying/sharing the word of God/teaching children in good ways/preaching/healing/prophesying etc. You might have noticed that, today the growth of many churches has been stunted because, the people of the church fight for greater positions in the church and fail to look for God’s purpose in their life. My dear friends, holding greater positions in the church or in a ministry means nothing in God’s sight. God has a plan for your life. Find it and pursue it.

Romans 12:3-8
I realize how kind God has been to me, and so I tell each of you not to think you are better than you really are. Use good sense and measure yourself by the amount of faith that God has given you. A body is made up of many parts, and each of them has its own use. That's how it is with us. There are many of us, but we each are part of the body of Christ, as well as part of one another. God has also given each of us different gifts to use. If we can prophesy, we should do it according to the amount of faith we have.
If we can serve others, we should serve. If we can teach, we should teach. If we can encourage others, we should encourage them. If we can give, we should be generous. If we are leaders, we should do our best. If we are good to others, we should do it cheerfully.

Give God His Glory!

Give God His Glory!

During the twentieth year that Artaxerxes was king, I served him his wine, as I had done before. But this was the first time I had ever looked depressed. So the king said, "Why do you look so sad? You're not sick. Something must be bothering you." Even though I was frightened, I answered, "Your Majesty, I hope you live forever! I feel sad because the city where my ancestors are buried is in ruins, and its gates have been burned down." The king asked, "What do you want me to do?" I prayed to the God who rules from heaven. Then I told the king, "Sir, if it's all right with you, please send me back to Judah, so that I can rebuild the city where my ancestors are buried."  The king agreed to let me go. Then I asked, "Your Majesty, would you be willing to give me letters to the governors of the provinces west of the Euphrates River, so that I can travel safely to Judah? I will need timber to rebuild the gates of the fortress near the temple and more timber to construct the city wall and to build a place for me to live. And so, I would appreciate a letter to Asaph, who is in charge of the royal forest." God was good to me, and the king did everything I asked. The king sent some army officers and cavalry troops along with me, and as I traveled through the Western Provinces, I gave the letters to the governors. 3 days after arriving in Jerusalem, I got up during the night and left my house. I took some men with me, without telling anyone what I thought God wanted me to do for the city. When I got back, I said to the people and the officials, "Jerusalem is truly in a mess! The gates have been torn down and burned, and everything is in ruins. We must rebuild the city wall so that we can again take pride in our city." Then I told them how kind God had been and what the king had said. Immediately, they replied, "Let's start building now!" So they got everything ready
Lesson to be Learnt:
I hope, you remember how Nehemiah prayed for several days before meeting the King. Today we see how the King mercifully granted everything that Nehemiah wanted to do for his native city. I remember my days when I had to get my record signed/preparing for a stage event. I used to praise God continuously until I get it done. And have always found it to be successful. It is when we honor God, thanking Him, praising Him for what He has done and praying before we start any work, He honors the work of our hands. So my dear friends. Always remember to pray and start any event in your life, may it be buying/selling/going on a tour/attending an interview etc. And it will surely be a blessing to you.

Psalm 86:12
(MKJV)  I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore.

Who will Pray for our Nation?

Who will Pray for our Nation?

I am Nehemiah son of Hacaliah, and in this book I tell what I have done. During the month of Chislev in the 20th  year that Artaxerxes ruled Persia, I was in his fortress city of Susa, when my brother Hanani came with some men from Judah. So I asked them about the Jews who had escaped from being captives in Babylonia. I also asked them about the city of Jerusalem. They told me, "Those captives who have come back are having all kinds of troubles. They are terribly disgraced, Jerusalem's walls are broken down, and its gates have been burned." When I heard this, I sat down and cried. Then for several days, I mourned; I went without eating to show my sorrow, and I prayed: LORD God of heaven, You are great and fearsome. And You faithfully keep Your promises to everyone who loves You and obeys Your commands. I am Your servant, so please have mercy on me and answer the prayer that I make day and night for these people of Israel who serve You. I, my family, and the rest of Your people have sinned by choosing to disobey You and the laws and teachings You gave to Your servant Moses. Please remember the promise You made to Moses. You told him that if we were unfaithful, You would scatter us among foreign nations. But You also said that no matter how far away we were, we could turn to You and start obeying Your laws. Then you would bring us back to the place where you have chosen to be worshiped. Our LORD, I am praying for Your servants those You rescued by Your great strength and mighty power. Please answer my prayer and the prayer of Your other servants who gladly honor Your name. When I serve the king his wine today, make him pleased with me and have him do what I ask.
Lesson to be Learnt:
Nehemiah was an Israelite and was in Persia as a cup bearer in the King’s palace. When he heard the trouble his people were facing in Jerusalem he couldn't bear it and prayed for the people day and night. Today we have many social issues like suicide/bomb blasts/fight among states/rape and much more around us. Many think that there is nothing we could do about it. But that’s not true. Nehemiah cried out to the Lord for his people, his nation. Are we praying for our nation today?or Do we just pity for the problems the people are facing and forget about it in time? Are we willing to go and help the people who meet with an accident along the roadside? Or are we just passing by?  Are we still in our comfort zone? Many missionaries left their homes/people and came to India to preach the gospel. If they have refused to leave their comfort zone, would we have had a chance to know this wonderful God?It is our duty and call to pray for our Nation and our people. Do you think what could a single persons prayer do for a nation/social issue? If so wait and read the complete story of what a single man, Nehemiah did for his people!

2Chronicles 7:14
(CEV)  If my own people will humbly pray and turn back to me and stop sinning, then I will answer them from heaven. I will forgive them and make their land fertile once again.
