Put God First!

No Other Idols!

Both commands ask us to put our Lord in first place.  We cannot give the glory of our Lord to any other gods or idols (Idols can be anything – a statue, a person or your TV or fame or money that you consider important above God). Many people say that they keep God as first. If that’s true then have a check. How much time do you spend in front of TV daily? How much time do you spend in sleep daily?

How much time do you spend in front of your computer daily? How much time do you spend listening to music daily? How much time do you spend for friends daily? How much importance you give for eating? If all these takes your whole day then I am sure you will find no time for God in your day. If you consider all these as more important, you may have to skip God. But when you put God first in your life, you will exactly know how to spend your time and on what to spend your time. This is what God wants from you too.

Give Him His due honor and respect. Seek Him before anything else. And always keep Him the first before anything else. It is not an advice but a command from God and you should follow it.  So how can you put God first in your life?

 Devote a good amount of time for God daily by praying and/or reading the bible.

• Go to church regularly to learn more about God.
• Learn how to listen to God. He has a plan for your life. Sometimes you need to be still and wait to hear Him.
• When you are having a bad day keep smiling because you know that God will take care of all the problems and you don't have to worry about them.

 (MKJV)  You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not bow yourself down to Idols, nor serve them. For I am the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation of those that hate me,
