Bind Us Together Lord!

Bind Us Together Lord!

Now there came a time, in the days of the judges, when there was no food in the land. And a certain man went from Beth-lehem, with his family, to make a living-place in the country of Moab. And the name of the man was Elimelech, his wife Naomi, his two sons Mahlon and Chilion. After sometime Elimelech, Naomi's husband died. Now her sons took two women of Moab as their wives: one was Orpah, and the other Ruth; and they went on living there for about 10 years. And Mahlon and Chilion came to their end; and the woman was without her two sons and her husband. So she and her daughters-in-law got ready to go back, for news had come to her in the country of Moab that the Lord, in mercy for His people, had given them food. When they went on their way to Beth-lehem. Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, Go back to your mothers' houses: may the Lord be good to you as you have been good to my sons and to me: But they would not . But Naomi asked them to go back and get married in their own place. Orpah gave her mother-in-law a kiss, but Ruth would not be parted from her. And Naomi said, See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods: go back after your sister-in-law. But Ruth said, Give up requesting me to go away from you, or to go back without you: for where you go I will go; and where you take your rest I will take my rest; your people will be my people, and your God my God. Wherever death comes to you, death will come to me, and there will be my last resting-place; the Lord do so to me and more if we are parted by anything but death. And when she saw that Ruth was strong in her purpose to go with her she said no more. So the two of them went on till they came to Beth-lehem. And when they came to Beth-lehem all the town was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? And she said to them, Do not let my name be Naomi, but Mara, for the Lord of all has given me a bitter fate. I went out full, and the Lord has sent me back again with nothing; why do you give me the name Naomi, seeing that the Lord has given witness against me, and the Lord of all has sent sorrow on me?  So Naomi came back out of the country of Moab, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter-in-law, with her; and they came to Beth-lehem in the first days of the grain-cutting.
Lesson to be Learnt:

1.       We can see from this passage a very beautiful family bonded in love and affection. It so common to  tug of war between, mother-in-laws and daughter-in-laws. O, I see the smile on your face too. But look how Naomi witnesses about her daughter-in-laws, she says they were good to their husbands and also good to their mom-in-law.
It is too hard to get such a witness these days? Why?  Lets take a peek into our lives.
Am I good to my husband and my in-laws ?
Do I love my in-laws though they don’t love me back the same way?
Do I show the same kind of respect to my in-laws  that I would show to my own parents?
Am I doing my best to show my care for them?
Do I forgive them and don’t hold past records of statements they made at a moment of anger ?
Do I put myself in their situation before I jump into conclusions about them?
(Am I trying to separate my husband from his mom? What will happen if my daughter in law does the same?)

If we have an “Yes” for all these except the last, though your mom-in-law doesn't recognize and witness that you are good, God will!!

2.      Naomi herself was also a good mother-in-law, she wanted the girls to have a better life even when she had none, she asked them to return. Look at Ruth’s statement to Naomi , “Let nothing but death separate you and me”. There must have been so much bonding between them for Ruth to have uttered such a word. So we may be future mom-in-laws and pa-in-laws. Lets take a stand to show Ruth and Naomi kind of bonding with the help of the Lord Almighty.
3.      The same kind of bonding holds good for any relationship and also a special relationship with our Lord.

Ruth 1:16
Ruth answered, "Please don't tell me to leave you and return home! I will go where you go, I will live where you live; your people will be my people, your God will be my God.
అందుకు రూతునా వెంబడి రావద్దనియు నన్ను విడిచి పెట్టుమనియు నన్ను బ్రతిమాలుకొనవద్దు. నీవు వెళ్లు చోటికే నేను వచ్చెదను, నీవు నివసించుచోటనే నేను నివసించెదను, నీ జనమే నా జనము నీ దేవుడే నా దేవుడు;
Watch it live
