Beatitudes

Day 1
Beatitudes

The meaning of the word “Beatitudes” is Blessed. Beatitudes along with other verses in Matthew 5 -7  were given to the people by the Lord Jesus on a mountain (a hillside near Capernaum, Israel) so it is called “The Sermon on the mount”. It is very popular not only among the believers in Christ but also among others. Even Mahatma Gandhi was influenced  by the principles that the Lord preached on the mount. Each of the beatitude that the Lord Jesus gave on the mount tells how to be blessed by God. It doesn’t tell you that you will have earthly prosperity. To Jesus being blessed means to experience hope and peace irrespective of your situations. Hope and peace are the deepest form of happiness that a person could ever get when we follow Jesus. So shall we be blessed through this series ? (scroll down for the Blessing words)

Matthew 5:3-12
God blesses those people who depend only on him. They belong to the kingdom of heaven!
God blesses those people who grieve. They will find comfort!
God blesses those people who are humble. The earth will belong to them!
God blesses those people who want to obey him more than to eat or drink. They will be given what they want!
God blesses those people who are merciful. They will be treated with mercy!
God blesses those people whose hearts are pure. They will see him!
God blesses those people who make peace. They will be called his children!
God blesses those people who are treated badly for doing right. They belong to the kingdom of heaven.
God will bless you when people insult you, mistreat you, and tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me.
Be happy and excited! You will have a great reward in heaven. People did these same things to the prophets who lived long ago.

Note:  We are extremely sorry for the irregularity in sending mails for the past few days. Kindly excuse us on that. From Monday we are starting a topic in New Testament. We had already covered topics in Old Testament(till Deuteronomy). After we complete the gospel(About Jesus and His Teachings) part in the New Testament we will resume to the Old Testament.
