Ephesians 5:1 Do as God does. After all, you are his dear children.

Just by God grace and mercy we are made His child. Children copy their parents, don’t you copy your dad/mom. The same way  we have to copy God and continue to copy Him for He is the best Role Model ever. Then we will become more like him and this will lead us to show mercy to our fellow beings just like Jesus Himself.

Ephesians 5:2 and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell.

Our perfect example is Jesus himself. He lived his life on earth as we do. He loves us as the Father loves him. We must love other people as Jesus loves us (John 13:34; 1 John 4:10-11; 1 Corinthians chapter 13). Christ sacrificed his life for us on the cross. That is how he showed his love for us. Our love also should be a sacrifice. We see the meaning of sacrifice in 1 John 3:16. It says, ‘this is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ gave his life for us’. Then it says, ‘and we ought to give our lives for our brothers (other people)’. The offering of Christ, however, was more than just an example to us. It was an offering ‘to God’ and ‘for us’. The Old Testament in the Bible described a sacrifice as a sweet smell. This meant that God liked it. There was, however, a far, far greater sacrifice by Jesus for us. In the same way, we should give ourselves to God and to other people. This is our life of sacrifice. It is like a sweet smell to God. It is also like a sweet smell to other people. By this love we automatically are successful in showing mercy to others. So are you willing to do it

(Hindi) और प्रेम में चलो? जैसे मसीह ने भी तुम से प्रेम किया? और हमारे लिथे अपके आप को सुखदायक सुगन्‍ध के लिथे परमेश्वर के आगे भेंट करके बलिदान कर दिया।

(Telugu)  క్రీస్తు మిమ్మును ప్రేమించి, పరిమళవాసనగా ఉండుటకు మనకొరకు తన్నుతాను దేవునికి అర్పణముగాను బలిగాను అప్పగించుకొనెను; ఆలాగుననే మీరును ప్రేమగలిగి నడుచుకొనుడి.

(Kan) ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನೂ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನೂ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಬೇಕು, ಇದು ವಾಗ್ದಾನಸಹಿತವಾದ ಮೊದಲನೇ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
