Do not Judge!

Much of David’s life was spent in running for his life as he was always sought by Saul to be killed. David and the men in his army were hungry from running from King Saul. Now there was a certain rich man in the desert called Nabal. so David sent a messenger to ask Nabal to give David and his army some food. But Nabal refused to give any food to David and his army. The messengers came back to David and told him that Nabal wouldn’t give them any food. David was very angry and prepared to kill Nabal. But Nabal’s wife, Abigail was a very noble woman.  When she knew about what had happened, she came to see David. Abigail brought David and his army food and she spoke to David pleading him to forgive Nabal for her sake. Then David’s anger was down and he promised Abigail not to kill Nabal. When Abigail went home, Nabal was drunk. She didn’t tell him that she had taken food to David and his army. The next morning Abigail told Nabal what had happened. Later Nabal lay still in his bed as a stone. Ten days later the Lord took his life.

Lesson to be Learnt:

1.      Everyone in Israel knew that David was God’s anointed king. But Nabal showed disrespect towards him. He insulted David and his men. And the Lord punished him for dishonoring the anointed one. Today many youth find joy in teasing Preachers in the church. They are God’s anointed people. We do not have the rights to judge anybody according to the Bible. So youth! Beware of what you speak.

2.      Now Abigail was of a noble character. She knew what to do. She took the blame on herself for her husband’s sake and pleaded David to forgive her husband. She was making an mediation for her husband. Are we like Abigail pleading with God to forgive our spouse’s sins? or are we still blaming our spouse for any mistake they are making?

Mat 7:1 ,2

Be not judges of others, and you will not be judged. For as you have been judging, so you will be judged, and with your measure will it be measured to you.

दोष मत लगाओ, कि तुम पर भी दोष न लगाया जाए। क्‍योंकि जिस प्रकार तुम दोष लगाते हो, उसी प्रकार तुम पर भी दोष लगाया जाएगा? और जिस नाप से तुम नापके हो, उसी से तुम्हारे लिथे भी नापा जाएगा।

ನಿಮಗೆ ತೀರ್ಪು ಆಗದಂತೆ ನೀವೂ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.ನೀವು ಮಾಡುವ ತೀರ್ಪಿ ನಿಂದಲೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ತೀರ್ಪಾಗುವದು; ಮತ್ತು ನೀವು ಅಳೆಯುವ ಅಳತೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಅಳತೆ ಯಾಗುವದು.

“നിങ്ങള്‍ വിധിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വിധിക്കരുതു.നിങ്ങള്‍ വിധിക്കുന്ന വിധിയാല്‍ നിങ്ങളെയും വിധിക്കും; നിങ്ങള്‍ അളക്കുന്ന അളവിനാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കും അളന്നു കിട്ടും.

நீங்கள் குற்றவாளிகளென்று தீர்க்கப்படாதபடிக்கு மற்றவர்களைக் குற்றவாளிகளென்று தீர்க்காதிருங்கள் ஏனெனில், நீங்கள் மற்றவர்களைத் தீர்க்கிற தீர்ப்பின்படியே நீங்களும் தீர்க்கப்படுவீர்கள்; நீங்கள் மற்றவர்களுக்கு அளக்கிற அளவின்படியே உங்களுக்கும் அளக்கப்படும்.

మీరు తీర్పు తీర్చకుడి, అప్పుడు మిమ్మునుగూర్చి తీర్పు తీర్చబడదు. మీరు తీర్చు తీర్పుచొప్పుననే మిమ్మునుగూర్చియు తీర్పు తీర్చబడును, మీరు కొలుచు కొలత చొప్పుననే మీకు కొలువబడును.
